يدين الحزب الشيوعي الأيرلندي الهجوم الأمريكي غير المبرر على فنزويلا واختطاف نيكولاس مادورو، رئيس جمهورية فنزويلا البوليفارية، وزوجته.
إن هذا الهجوم يشكل خرقا لميثاق الأمم المتحدة والقانون الدولي وهجوما على سيادة الدول. ويكشف مرة أخرى أن الإمبريالية الأمريكية هي أكبر تهديد للسلام والحضارة العالمية.
ويهدف هذا الهجوم على دولة ذات سيادة إلى تمكين الولايات المتحدة من سرقة احتياطيات فنزويلا النفطية الهائلة. إنها مجرد أحدث حلقة في سلسلة طويلة من الهجمات الأمريكية على شعوب أمريكا الجنوبية والوسطى لصالح الرأسمالية الاحتكارية الأمريكية، ويجب إدانتها ومعارضتها من قبل كل من يؤمن بميثاق الأمم المتحدة والقانون الدولي.
لا يمكن السماح للحكومة الأيرلندية بالاختباء وراء الكلمات المراوغة أو ما يسمى بشركائنا في الاتحاد الأوروبي.

ويجب على الحكومة الأيرلندية أن تصدر بيان إدانة واضحا لا لبس فيه وأن تدعم حل هذه الأحداث لصالح الشعب الفنزويلي.
ونعرب عن تضامننا العميق مع الشعب الكوبي والحكومة الكوبية اللذين يواجهان الآن عدوانًا عسكريًا أمريكيًا متجددًا وعقوبات متزايدة.
إن تصرفات الولايات المتحدة تدفع عالمنا إلى سباق تسلح جديد وحرب نووية محتملة.
CP of Ireland, Communist Party of Ireland Statement on US attack on Venezuela
The Communist Party of Ireland condemns the unprovoked US attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and his wife.
This attack is a breach of the UN Charter, of International Law and is an attack on the sovereignty of nations. It exposes once again that US imperialism is the biggest threat to world peace and civilisation.
This attack upon a sovereign nation is to enable the US to steal Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. It is just the latest in a long line of US attacks upon the peoples of South and Central America in the interests of US monopoly capitalism and it must be condemned and opposed by all who believe in the UN Charter and international law.
The Irish goverent can not be allowed to hide behind weazel words or our so-called EU partners.
It is now abundantely clear that International Law does not apply to all nations equally. By their non-condemnation of the US attack upon sovereign Venezuela, the ruling class in the NATO/EU blochas underlined their belief that they are not bound by International Law and the UN Charter. This follows on from the experience of genocidal war carried out by the zionists, who are armed and politically supported by the bloc.
We call for the maximum mobilisation of left and democratic opinion in solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela.
The Irish government must make a clear and unambiguous statement of condemnation and support the resolution of these events in the interests of the Venezuelan people.
We express of profound solidarity with the Cuban people and government who now face renewed US military aggression and deepening sanctions.
The actions of the US are driving our world to new arms race and possible nuclear war.
