The Communist Party of Canada expresses its solidarity with the people of Iran in their just struggles for democracy, political freedoms, social progress and decent wages and living conditions against a repressive theocratic government. We condemn the state’s violent crackdown on protesters and support the demands of women, youth, workers, and all progressive forces. We simultaneously condemn in the strongest terms any attempt by the United States, Israel, and other imperialist powers to manipulate these legitimate popular grievances to install a subservient regime and plunder Iran’s resources. The Iranian people alone have the right to determine their future, free from foreign interference or military threat. The hypocrisy of the Canadian government is glaring. While posturing as a defender of human rights, it has allied itself with the genocidal Israeli government and other reactionary regimes in the region and around the world. Canada maintains sanctions on Iran and severed diplomatic relations, policies that hurt the Iranian working class and Iranian-Canadians. This aligns with Canada’s foreign policy that promotes interference and regime change, as is evident in Canada’s support for U.S. aggression against Venezuela. Such actions expose a consistent pattern of violating international law and the right to self-determination to serve Canadian imperialist interests, serving as an increasingly subservient partner of U.S. imperialism.
We stand against the increasingly aggressive imperialist interventionist drive and stand in solidarity with all people fighting for peace, democracy and decent living standards. As such, we fight for an independent foreign policy of peace and disarmament, including Canada’s immediate withdrawal from NATO and an end to Canada’s increasing integration into the U.S.-led war machine.

يُعبّر الحزب الشيوعي الكندي عن تضامنه مع شعب إيران في نضالاته العادلة من أجل الديمقراطية والحريات السياسية والتقدم الاجتماعي والأجور اللائقة وظروف العيش الكريمة، في مواجهة حكومة ثيوقراطية قمعية. وندين قمع الدولة العنيف للمتظاهرين، وندعم مطالب النساء والشباب والعمال وجميع القوى التقدمية. وفي الوقت نفسه، نُدين بأشد العبارات أي محاولة من جانب الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل وغيرها من القوى الإمبريالية لاستغلال هذه المظالم الشعبية المشروعة بهدف تنصيب نظام تابع ونهب موارد إيران. إن الشعب الإيراني وحده يملك الحق في تقرير مستقبله، بعيدًا عن أي تدخل أجنبي أو تهديد عسكري.
إن نفاق الحكومة الكندية صارخ. فبينما تتظاهر بالدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان، تتحالف مع الحكومة الإسرائيلية الإبادية وغيرها من الأنظمة الرجعية في المنطقة وحول العالم. وتواصل كندا فرض العقوبات على إيران وقطع العلاقات الدبلوماسية معها، وهي سياسات تُلحق الضرر بالطبقة العاملة الإيرانية وبالإيرانيين-الكنديين. ويتماشى ذلك مع سياسة كندا الخارجية التي تشجع التدخل وتغيير الأنظمة، كما يتجلى في دعمها للعدوان الأمريكي على فنزويلا. وتكشف هذه الأفعال عن نمطٍ ثابت من انتهاك القانون الدولي وحق الشعوب في تقرير المصير خدمةً للمصالح الإمبريالية الكندية، في إطار شراكة متزايدة التبعية للإمبريالية الأمريكية.
