SP GENERAL SECRETARY APPEALS TO THE YOUTHS OF ZAMBIA

The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Dr. Cosmas Musumali, has appealed to the youths of Zambia to rise to their historic responsibility and reclaim the country’s future from exploitation, betrayal, and economic injustice.
Dr. Musumali said the youth, who form the overwhelming majority of Zambia’s population and voters, must recognise their power and refuse to be used as instruments for preserving a system that has failed them. He stated that Zambia was built through struggle, sacrifice, and collective effort, and warned that the values that gave birth to the nation are being systematically eroded by a self-serving political elite.
He observed that young people today face mass unemployment, rising poverty, student indebtedness, poor education standards, and a collapsing public healthcare system, despite being repeatedly promised change. He said this reality was not accidental but a direct consequence of policies that prioritise profits, privatisation, and foreign interests over the needs of the people.
Dr. Musumali emphasised that the youth must not surrender their future to leaders who have no genuine commitment to national development, social justice, or economic sovereignty. He stressed that real liberation cannot be achieved through slogans and social media deception, but through political consciousness, organisation, and disciplined action.
He called on young people to reject politics of handouts, tribalism, and fear, and instead embrace a bold vision rooted in equality, dignity, and people-centred development. He stated that the Socialist Party offers a clear alternative anchored in free quality education, meaningful jobs, public ownership of strategic resources, and an economy that serves the many and not a privileged few.
Dr. Musumali urged the youths to organise in schools, colleges, universities, communities, and workplaces, and to actively participate in shaping Zambia’s political direction. He said history would judge this generation not by its silence, but by whether it chose courage over comfort and transformation over submission.
He concluded by calling on the youths to join the Socialist Party in building a Zambia that guarantees opportunity, justice, and dignity for present and future generations, stating that the time to act is now and that the future belongs to an organised and conscious youth.
الأمين العام للحزب الاشتراكي يوجّه نداءً إلى شباب زامبيا

وجّه الأمين العام لـالحزب الاشتراكي، الدكتور كوسماس موسومالي، نداءً إلى شباب زامبيا دعاهم فيه إلى النهوض بمسؤوليتهم التاريخية واستعادة مستقبل البلاد من الاستغلال والخيانة والظلم الاقتصادي.
وقال الدكتور موسومالي إن الشباب، الذين يشكّلون الغالبية الساحقة من سكان زامبيا ومن الناخبين، يجب أن يدركوا قوتهم ويرفضوا أن يُستَخدموا أدواتٍ للحفاظ على نظامٍ فشل في تلبية تطلعاتهم. وأضاف أن زامبيا بُنيت عبر النضال والتضحية والعمل الجماعي، محذّراً من أن القيم التي وُلدت بها الدولة تتعرّض لتآكلٍ ممنهج على يد نخبةٍ سياسيةٍ انتهازية.
وأشار إلى أن الشباب اليوم يواجهون بطالةً جماعية، وتفاقماً للفقر، ومديونيةً طلابية، وتدهوراً في مستوى التعليم، وانهياراً في نظام الرعاية الصحية العمومية، رغم الوعود المتكررة بالتغيير. وأكد أن هذا الواقع ليس عرضياً، بل نتيجة مباشرة لسياسات تُقدِّم الأرباح والخصخصة والمصالح الأجنبية على حساب حاجات الشعب.
وشدّد الدكتور موسومالي على أن الشباب يجب ألا يسلّموا مستقبلهم لقادةٍ يفتقرون إلى التزامٍ حقيقي بالتنمية الوطنية والعدالة الاجتماعية والسيادة الاقتصادية. وأوضح أن التحرر الحقيقي لا يتحقق عبر الشعارات وخداع وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، بل عبر الوعي السياسي والتنظيم والعمل المنضبط.
ودعا الشباب إلى رفض سياسات الهبات والزبائنية والقبلية وسياسة التخويف، واعتماد رؤيةٍ جريئة تقوم على المساواة والكرامة والتنمية المتمحورة حول الإنسان. وأكد أن الحزب الاشتراكي يقدّم بديلاً واضحاً يرتكز على تعليمٍ مجانيٍّ ذي جودة، ووظائف ذات معنى، وملكيةٍ عامة للموارد الاستراتيجية، واقتصادٍ يخدم الأغلبية لا قلّةً مميّزة.
وحثّ الدكتور موسومالي الشباب على التنظيم في المدارس والمعاهد والجامعات والمجتمعات وأماكن العمل، والمشاركة الفاعلة في صياغة المسار السياسي لزامبيا. وقال إن التاريخ سيحاكم هذا الجيل لا بصمته، بل بما إذا كان قد اختار الشجاعة على الراحة، والتحوّل على الخضوع.
واختتم بدعوة الشباب إلى الانضمام للحزب الاشتراكي من أجل بناء زامبيا تضمن الفرص والعدالة والكرامة للأجيال الحالية والقادمة، مؤكداً أن وقت العمل هو الآن، وأن المستقبل ملكٌ لشبابٍ منظّمٍ وواعٍ.
