في الوقت الذي يحيي فيه الشعب المغربي وقواه الحية ذكرى انتفاضة 20 فبراير المجيدة، يزداد الوضع الاقتصادي والاجتماعي تأزما كما تتعرض الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية للمغاربة، يوميا، لمزيد من التضييق والانتهاكات.
كان الأحرى بالجهات المتحكمة أن تتحرك وتعمل على تحسين الأوضاع المزرية للمغاربة واحترام القانون والحريات وليس لتشديد الخناق على الحقوقيين والصحفيين والمناضلين وكافة المواطنين الذين يئنون تحت وطأة الفقر والتهميش، أو لتثبيت القبضة البوليسية على الجهاز القضائي إمعانا في إضعافه وتكريس تبعيته والإجهاز على العدالة وخاصة حين يتعلق الأمر بملفات الحقوق السياسية، وحرية الرأي، والتعبير، والصحافة.
وإذ ندين بشدة نتائج المحاكمات الصورية في كل اطوارها كالتي تجلت مؤخرا في ملف الصحفي سليمان الريسوني، تماما كسابقاتها في حق معتقلي حراك الريف وغيرهم من الشباب والطلبة والصحفيين والمدونين ونشطاء الشبكات الاجتماعية المعتقلين في مختلف المناطق؛ نعلن رفضنا التام واستنكارنا لاستمرارية نهج سياسة الانتقام وفبركة الملفات بدون حرج.
إننا في مركز حقوق الإنسان بأمريكا الشمالية، نؤكد تضامننا المطلق مع كافة المعتقلين السياسيين ونطالب بالإفراج عنهم عاجلا وندين الأحكام الصادرة في حق سليمان الريسوني وما يطبخ ضد باقي المعتقلين ونعبر عن رفضنا الشديد لاستعمال الجهاز القضائي والموارد العمومية للتضييق على الحريات، والعمل الجمعوي، والنقابي، والسياسي.

As the Moroccan people and their living forces commemorate the glorious uprising of 20 February, the economic and social situation is worsening as well as the economic, social and political rights of Moroccans are daily exposed to more restrictions and violations.
The political system should act and work to improve the miserable conditions of Moroccans and to respect the law and freedoms, instead of intensifying the repression against human rights activists, journalists, activists and all citizens who groan under the weight of poverty and marginalization, and instead of tightening the stranglehold of the police apparatus on the judicial system in order to weaken it further and consecrate its dependence and destroy Justice, especially when it comes to matters of political rights, freedom of opinion, of expression and of the press.
We strongly condemn the results of the fictitious and unjust trials in all their phases, such as the trials of journalist Souleiman Raissouni, as well as the previous ones against the detainees of the Hirak du Rif and other young people, students, journalists, bloggers and social media activists, detained in various regions. We also condemn the continuation of the policy of revenge and fabrication of cases against activists without embarrassment.
At the Center for Human Rights in North America, we affirm our absolute solidarity with all political detainees and demand their immediate release. We condemn the sentences pronounced against Souleiman Raissouni and what is being prepared against the rest of the detainees, and we express our firm rejection of the use of the judicial system and public resources to restrict freedoms and associative, union and political work.
