Resolution Adopted by All India Anti-Fascist People’s Convention, Nagpur !
The All India Anti-Fascist People’s Convention, being held at Nagpur on 10 March 2023 appeals to the People of India to rise up and resolutely move forward to save India from the stranglehold of RSS-Corporate Fascism. The most urgent step in this direction is to defeat BJP in the forthcoming parliament election. RSS, world's biggest and longest-running, far-right, fascist organisation, with the backing of corporate-crony capitalists, is now holding the reins of Indian State through its political tool BJP. Consequently, all institutions of State power including civil and military administration and even the judiciary as well as the entire political, economic, cultural and educational spheres of the country are now under the firm grip of fascist forces.
The fascists with such moves as CAA, Abrogation of Article 370, building-up of Ram Temple at the very site of demolished Babri Masjid, Uniform Civil Code, etc., which are specifically targeted against Muslims, have already laid the foundations for their ultimate aim of establishing a majoritarian theocratic Hindurashtra. And effectively utilising the anti-Muslim and Islamophobic majoritarian polarisation already created, and especially through prime minister himself consecrating Ram Temple, thereby undermining the secular character of Indian Constitution, RSS-BJP is now in a madding pace with its 'mission 400', i.e., winning 400 seats in parliament in the impending General Election.
Obviously, RSS' previous efforts, though failed, to replace Indian Constitution with Manusmriti, which treats oppressed lower castes like Dalits and women as subhumans, are already known. Today, lion's share of India's wealth, senior posts in civil and military administration and in judiciary are occupied by a tiny minority of Brahmanical upper castes. It is in addition to this that through economic reservation (EWS), 10 percent more reservation is granted to the elite upper castes through the 103rd Constitutional Amendment that also undermined the very character of the Constitution. Meanwhile, the RSS/BJP is obstructing the demand for an all India Caste Census from the people of oppressed castes and democratic forces, as it will expose the upper-caste grip over country's political and economic power. There is widespread concern among progressive and democratic forces and all well-meaning people that a hat-trick win by RSS-BJP in 2024 election may lead to a replacement of Indian Constitution with Manusmriti.
Integral to this Saffron agenda, in accordance with the far-right, pro-corporate orientation of the Modi government, the country's wealth and resources including public sector enterprises are increasingly gobbled up by Adani-Ambani like crony capitalists. Parliament has become a mere spectator and an edifice for hoodwinking people while policy decisions are taken in corporate board-rooms and through notorious 'electoral bonds', unholy nexus between most corrupt corporate capitalists and the ruling regime has become more evident. As a result, as manifested in growing inequality, unprecedented unemployment, loss of livelihood, displacement from habitats and widespread hunger, vast majority of the working class, peasantry, Adivasis, women and all oppressed people including religious minorities are driven more and more into absolute poverty, which are cunningly covered-up by official agencies and corporate-saffron Godi-media who are competing among themselves for undue coverage of Modi government's doles and freebies as election is near.
All those well-meaning people including writers and intellectuals and even opposition leaders who criticise or express their dissent and difference against the fascist policies of Modi regime are treated as anti-nationals and traitors and are subjected to most stringent draconian laws like UAPA. Along with RSS' hold over State power, Saffron goons have taken over control of street power too.
At this critical juncture, when people are even denied the democratic right to free expression and as all basic right to dissent are curtailed, India has become a typical instance of corporate- neofascism. Hence to overthrow this fascist regime has become the immediate task of the Indian people. In this context, the All India Anti-fascist People's Convention appeals to all people who stand for the right to live and who uphold Democracy, Secularism, and Caste-based Reservation as enshrined in the Indian Constitution to rise up in solidarity with all anti-fascist democratic forces, to take all efforts not to divide the anti-fascist votes and resolutely strive forward to defeat RSS-BJP in the General Election.
